Awareness 4 All

I have decided to call my blog A4A because everyone needs to be educated where domestic abuse is concerned and awareness for all is vital in staying safe.
1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will be affected by domestic abuse during their lifetime but won’t realise they are a victim until it’s too late.
2 women every week in England and Wales are killed by a current or former partner.

Domestic abuse is about power and control, with the dominator doing all they can to gain and maintain that power and control over their partner.

Isolation starts at the honeymoon period of the relationship and that is the beginning of the abusive cycle, not when the first punch is thrown – this is why A4A is vital.  Society needs to spot the signs that aren’t there and not focus on the the physical abuse.

Domestic abuse knows no boundaries and it is my aim to raise awareness to help save lives.

A4A is about giving people choices, knowing how to identify things when they are wrong and understand the impact domestic abuse has on lives.

Read my blogs, follow my tweets, like my Facebook awareness page, ready my columns and listen to my radio interviews, I am always raising domestic abuse awareness for others.

I have awareness packs available, which include:

Early warning signs, how to support someone experiencing domestic abuse, myths and truths, the impact of domestic abuse and helplines and websites
